Special Events

The Washington County Museum holds two special events annually:

  • A Taste of Washington County — an annual outdoor banquet featuring the culinary talent of local chefs, wineries and breweries. Held annually in June, the Museum also recognizes the significant community contribution(s) of a local resident with the Heart of Washington County Award.
  • A Swank Affair Gala — our signature fundraising event — features a gourmet dinner, entertainment, dancing, and an array of spectacular items in both silent and oral auctions. This signature event, held annually in October, is a key source of funding for the Museum and its work to preserve the history and treasures of Washington County, its communities and its people.

In addition, the Museum hosts other events such as member receptions, community group receptions in partnership with other organizations, and public events for celebrations such as National Museum Day.
