FREE – Discussion About Recipes & Community!

Stone Soup: How Recipes Can Preserve History and Nourish Community

Join us on November 16th for a delicious bowl of soup and a lively discussion about recipes, history and community building. Sponsored by Oregon Humanities, the Washington County Museum has partnered with the Fresh Thyme Soup Company in Beaverton to host this fun and free event.

Participants are encouraged to bring any treasured recipes they’d like to share with the group. These recipes may end up in a story-based collection compiled by the Oregon Humanities Conversation Project.

The discussion will be led by Jennifer Roberts who is a writer and independent scholar living in Josephine County, Oregon. She is currently working on a novel set in the seventeenth century that involves witchcraft, alchemy, and, of course, recipes.

When: November 16th (Thurs.) from 2pm to 4pm

Where: Fresh Thyme Soup Company: 16155 NW Cornell Rd. Beaverton, OR 97006

Admission: Free*

*You are encouraged to purchase a cup/bowl of soup, but you’re not obligated!
