LOCAL STORY: June A. Reynolds

This event will be held at our Hillsboro Location 120 E Main Street, Hillsboro, Oregon 97123

Please join us on Saturday, September 23 at 11:00am to learn about writing local history from author and historian, June A. Reynolds. Thinking and writing with a sense of time and place, June will lead the audience through her journey writing three books on Sherwood history from pre-history into the 1950s, as well as her experience writing historical fiction set in Oregon. June will also lead a workshop on writing local history, so bring your journals and favorite pens and mechanical pencils!

June has been writing since she was ten and has been a teacher and librarian in public schools in the Pacific Northwest for 35 years. She is a historian who has written books on local history and a musical on Oregon history. She has also written one screen play and several stage plays. One story has been adapted as a radio play and a novel.

June’s talk and workshop launches the Washington County Museum’s new program, LOCAL STORY, which brings together authors, storytellers, artists, and community members to speak about what it means to live in Washington County, Oregon. Stay tuned to find out how you can share your story at the museum, too!
