April 10: Spring Kites and Celebration of Hispanic Culture at Museum Free Family Day
Join us for a fun day packed with activities for kids of all ages! This month, make a fish kite or design your own kite to build and fly. We’ll also have cloth doll making and culture themed printmaking activities. Centro Cultural, whose mission is to promote cultural consciousness and understanding among diverse groups of the community, will also participate.
May 8: Pioneer dress up, crafts for spring. Make your own butterfly art and do fish printing.
June 12: Learn about historic photography and quilting. Summer themed arts and crafts activities.
Free Admission, snacks and juice. Donations Welcome. Sponsored in part by the PGE Foundation and Beaverton Bakery.

Take a Hike! Walking tours from Portland to the Coast
Just in time for Spring, our April talk will discuss the establishment of walking hikes through publicly accessible “blue-gate” areas. We will journey from Portland’s West Hills from Forest Park through Northern Washington County and into the wild slopes of the Coast Range. Avid hiker and author of Portland Forest Hikes James Thayer will touch on Indian heritage, local roads, flora and fauna, as well as the importance of creating regional walking trails.
